England fans intending to travel to the World Cup have been warned to beware the bears.
Football Supporters’ Federation chief Kevin Miles was researching travel options when he received the surprising advice by the Russian national tourism office.
Miles, concerned about the lack of hotel accommodation, asked Visit Russia about camping options. He was told there is no camping culture in the country, apart from out in the wild where you had to be very careful about the danger posed by hungry bears.
There have been reports of an increasing number of Russia’s 70,000 bears approaching humans because of a lack of food sources.
